Q: Where is the Bessemer Airport?
A: Just off I-459 a few miles Southwest of Hoover.  From the Riverchase Galleria take I-459 South toward Tuscaloosa.  Take Exit 6 off of I-459.  Turn left after exiting then travel about 1 1/2 miles to Aviation Road and turn right.  The airport is about 1 1/2 mile ahead.  Click here for an online map.

Q: What time should I arrive at the show?
A: The gates open at 10:00 AM and the show starts at 2:00 PM.

Q: What is the cost of tickets?
A: Ticket prices have not yet been determined for the 2008 show. 

Q: Do I need advance tickets?
A: No, tickets can be bought at the gate.  Cash only!  Credit cards, debit cards, and checks are not accepted.

Q: Is food available at the show?
A: You bet it is.  It just wouldn't be an air show without some Zeigler air dogs and an ice cold Pepsi. We strive to bring our guests a variety of concession choices at a very reasonable price. There are no ATM machines at the show, so be sure to bring along some cash.

Q: What should I bring?
A: Lawn chairs and/or a blanket to sit on and enjoy the show, sunscreen, a hat (you will be out in the sun for a while), sunglasses, and of course, a camera

Q: What should I not bring?
A: The following items are not permitted inside the show area - pets (does not apply to guide pets), skateboards, bicycles, scooters, coolers, alcoholic beverages. 

Q: Is smoking allowed at the air show?
A: Yes, in designated areas.  Airplane fuel is highly flammable and no smoking is permitted on the tarmac.

Q: Can I fly my airplane to the show?
A: You can.  The airport identifier is EKY.  Check NOTAMs for last minute changes before you depart for Bessemer but expect the show to be closed to non air show aircraft from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM each day.  You will probably want to allow some extra time in your flight planning in case traffic in the area delays your landing.  The show typically is over by 4:00 or 4:30 PM and you can leave immediately thereafter. There should be someone available to show you to the transient aircraft parking area upon your arrival.
